A note on 'gluten free' and 'gluten friendly' terms
In this collection, products are labelled 'gluten free' (look for the badge) only when the producer has indicated that the product contains no gluten, and has no risk of cross-contamination from other items containing gluten.
If a product does not show the gluten free badge, it implies that the item does not inherently contain gluten and no gluten has been added in the manufacture process, but it may have been prepared in the same kitchen as gluten-containing foods. This is also known as ‘gluten friendly’ in some of our stores.
Gluten friendly can be acceptable for those with mild gluten sensitivities, but not for people with serious allergies. It is always advisable to seek professional guidance if you are unsure about food intolerances and allergies.
