Description

By far our best selling steak. The rump has the least amount of marbling out of our wagyu cuts but still remains tender, moist and full of flavour.  It is a great all round wagyu steak that will be delicious but won’t break the bank.

Cooking Guide

Grilling:

  • Preheat grill to high heat.
  • Season the Wagyu rump steak with salt and pepper.
  • Grill for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to desired doneness.
  • Let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Pan-Searing:

  • Heat a pan over high heat.
  • Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms.
  • Reduce heat to medium and cook to desired doneness.
  • Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Oven-Finishing:

  • After searing on the stovetop, transfer the steak to a preheated oven at 180°C.
  • Cook for 5-10 minutes, depending on thickness, to reach desired doneness.
  • Rest before slicing and serving.
